Linda Strubbe, Ph.D., is a Co-Founder of the Pan-African School for Emerging Astronomers, and was Co-Director from 2013-2025. Linda is a science education researcher, instructor, facilitator, curriculum designer and instructor professional developer, through Strubbe Educational Consulting. Her Ph.D. (University of California, Berkeley) and first postdoctoral fellowship (Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics) were studying the tidal disruption of stars by massive black holes in the centers of galaxies. In 2015, she transitioned her career to science education. Linda's work focuses on teaching and university instructor professional development in international contexts, especially in Canada, Africa, Central Asia, and the U.S. She leads the BLUEshift Africa project, offering professional development in astronomy teaching for early-career African scientists, and supports educational projects through program evaluation and curriculum design.Â
